Replace your ziploc plastic snack bags with a natural re-usable product. Extend the life of your fruits and vegetables with a beeswax pouch...
Beeswax has a unique combination of waterproofing and breathability properties that work together to keep your food far fresher than your typical plastic. Many fruits and vegetables release gases as they ripen, plastic traps those gases and moisture in, causing your food ripen, wilt and become soggy. Conversely, beeswax allows your fruits and veggies to breath and releases those trapped gases. At the same time, beeswax and jojoba oil have antibacterial qualities actively work to reduce risks of contamination and keep your food fresh.
Our beeswax wraps are made of completely natural materials that will biodegrade. They’re 100% compostable—meaning you can feel comfortable knowing that they disintegrate into natural elements.
Beeswax small pouches are a perfect replacement for snack ziplocks and are great for:
-Fresh Herbs (keep fresh for at least twice as long as plastic packaging)
-Carrots, celery(stay so crisp!)
-Beeswax wraps will last up to a year or more with proper care.
-Gently hand wash in cool water with dishsoap, hang, pat down, or place on a kitchen towel to dry
-Eventually your beeswax wrap will reach the end of its life when it no longer sticks to itself. At this point, you can simply place it in the compost
-Excessive heat. The beeswax will melt under hot temperatures. This means you cannot place your beeswax wraps in hot water, the microwave, or dishwasher.
-Uncooked meat (i.e fish, raw steak)
-more than 1 month in a freezer
Things to be aware of:
-While you break it in for the first few uses the beeswax will leave a slight residue on your hands and dishware
-If not cared for properly and cleaned regularly, beeswax wraps can mold
-The material can stain
